International Conference Visits Buffalo This Summer

The New Economy, what will it look like? Will it look like the old economy, an economy based off of the exploitation of people, the land, and the environment by the few over the many, or an economy we all create together from the ground up?

Common Bound 2016 is coming to Buffalo NY and is being brought to you by the New Economy Coalition.

The New Economy Coalition is an international group of organizations committed to making sure the new economy looks nothing like the old one. It is comprised of people working to make a just transition for many of our most marginalized communities in a variety of important life areas.

They're bringing their annual international conference, CommonBound (happening July 8-10, 2016) to Buffalo this summer for the first time. This is a great opportunity to continue to put Buffalo on the map and highlight Buffalo's comeback, that many of us living at the neighborhood level are trying to become a part of, to highlight the disparities in resources and economic development resources in our communities, and the work being done to correct this. This is also a great opportunity to learn, connect, and share stories and struggles with like minded social justice folks from all over. There are learning opportunities, workshop presentations idea opportunities and more.

From the New Economy Coalition:

"CommonBound will bring together people with powerful visions for the future: a cross-section of community leaders, thinkers, and practitioners from around the world, including the New Economy Coalition’s 140-plus member organizations from throughout the US and Canada. Participants will share strategies and stories, build relationships, highlight achievements, and chart a shared path toward a society that puts people and planet first."
