We celebrated the holiday season and the New Year in true PUSH fashion, by throwing an incredible holiday party and taking a trip to Albany!
Over 200 West Siders and PUSH members and their families came out to celebrate the holidays with us over games, tons and tons of food, impromptu dance performances, karaoke, cotton candy and a beautiful dance party. We've never seen so many people having such a good time at 271 Grant St! It was amazing, thanks to the hard work of PUSH leaders Maggie, Karan, Linda, Shawn, PJ, Aminah, Bob C, Bob M, Augustine, Mike, Annie, Ismail, Lonnie, Brigidann, Ray and everyone who brought a dish or two.
After a restful holiday break, PUSH leaders Bob C, Rodney, James, and Tommy traveled to Albany to advance some of our issues at the state level! Bob called on incoming Governor Cuomo to put the people first during the People's State of the State. We began to develop a partnership with NYS Senator Maziarz to pass on-bill financing for Green Jobs Green NY and to hold the Public Service Commission more accountable--goals which PUSH and the Senator share! Finally, we joined our partners in the New York Stimulus Alliance at the State of the State to ask Cuomo to adopt some important New Year's Resolutions. Check out the media coverage
of our event!
