The Partnership for the Public Good recently hosted a forum on Immigrant and Refugee integration in Western New York. PUSH Organizer Eric Walker moderated a panel consisting of: Michael Carr of Erie County Department of Social Services, Pam Kefi of the International Institute of Buffalo, Patricia Rector of the Central NY Labor-Religion Coalition, Rick Su of UB Law School, and Myo Thant of the Burmese Community Association.
The panel discussed various issues pertaining to the immigrant and refugee community including labor, the upstate economy, and how to get such new communities rooted in the WNY region. PUSH is glad to be part of the community discussion as to how best serve and incorporate Western New York's newest arrivals.
